Bob the Boba Bead Amigurumi

Bubble Teas, Boba Teas, Popping Boba Teas, originated from Taiwan and is recognized and consumed worldwide. It’s main ingredients consists of tea and milk, and is combined with different flavours to create a refreshing drink.

This tutorial will show you how to crochet the star of the Bubble Milk Teas, Bob.

MATERIALS

8 PLY / DK COTTON YARN

COLOURS: LIGHT GRAY + BLACK

4 MM CROCHET HOOK

DARNING NEEDLE

A PAIR OF SAFETY EYES

FIBERFILL

SCISSORS


With your black yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a Magic Ring (MR) and Chain (CH) 1.

ROUND 1: Hook in 7 Single Crochets (SC) inside the MR. Total stitches: 7

ROUND 2: Hook in 2 SCS or Single Crochet Increase (SC INC) in every stitch in the round (Photo 1). Total Stitches: 14

ROUND 3: *SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times (Photo 2). Total stitches: 21

ROUND 4: * SC in the next 2 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 28

ROUND 5: *SC in the next 3 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 35

ROUND 6: *SC in the next 4 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 42

ROUND 7: * SC in the next 5 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 49

ROUND 8 TO ROUND 17: SC in every stitch in the round (Photo 3).

Take the safety eyes and attach between Rounds 13 and 14. Space the eyes 5 stitches apart (Photo 5).

ROUND 18: * SC in the next 5 stitches, Invisible Single Crochet Decrease (INV SC DEC) in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 42

ROUND 19: * SC in the next 4 stitches, INV SC DEC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 35

ROUND 20: * SC in the next 3 stitches, INV SC DEC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 more times. Total stitches: 28
