ROW 12: Yarn B: CH 2, Double Crochet Two Together (DC2TOG) or DC Decrease in the next stitch, DC in the next 62 stitches, DC decrease in the next stitch, double crochet in the last stitch, joining Yarn B in this stitch. Turn your work. Total Stitches: ( 66 )

ROW 13: Yarn A: CH 2, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row, joining Yarn B in the last stitch. Turn your work. Total Stitches: ( 66 )

ROW 14: Yarn B: CH 2, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row. Turn your work. Total Stitches: ( 66 )

ROW 15: Yarn B: CH 2, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row. Turn your work. Total Stitches: ( 66 )

ROW 16 to ROW 25: Repeat Rows 13, 14 and 15 of the pattern.

ROW 26: Yarn A: CH 2, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row. Total Stitches: ( 66 )

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

BEE COSTUME STOMACH PORTION

Using Yarn A and your 4 MM crochet hook, begin with a slip knot and CH 22, 28, 34.

ROW 1: DC in the 4th CH from the hook and in the next 18, 24, 30 CHS. Turn your work. Total Stitches: ( 20, 26, 32)

ROW 2: CH 2, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

ROW 3 TO ROW 19: CH 2, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.



PUTTING IT TOGETHER

Position the stomach portion and the back portion of the top with the wrong side facing up. From the first row, sew Rows 1 to 5 together, skip 6, 10, 14 rows and resew on rows 13 to 19, 16 to 22 and 19 to 25.

Repeat for the other side. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

WORKING THE ARMHOLE

Join your yarn into the inner portion of the armhole and CH 1, working around the armhole, SC in every stitch in the round, SL ST in the beginning CH to join. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends. Repeat for the other side.

NECK RIBBING

For this part of the costume, a 3 MM crochet hook is used.

Join Yarn B into the inner neck portion of the top and CH 12, 12, 16.

ROW 1: DC in the 4th CH from the hook and in the next 8 CHS, Slip Stitch Two Together ( SLST2TOG ), 2 times. Turn your work.
ROW 2: CH 2, DC in the back loops of every stitch in the row. Turn your work.
Row 3: CH 2,DC in the back loops of every stitch in the row. SLST2TOG 2 times. Turn your work.
Row 4: CH 2, DC in the back loops of every stitch in the row. Turn your work.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 alternately until you reach the end of the round.
To join the neck ribbing together, press the 2 ends with the right side facing up. SL ST in the back loops of every stitch in the row.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

WINGS ( 2 )

The wings come in 2 sizes, the Small and Large Wing. Pair the small wings with the Small Bee Costume. The Large wing fits the Medium and Large Bee Costume.

Using Yarn C and your 4 MM crochet hook, create a slip knot and CH 21, 27.

ROW 1: SC in the 2nd CH from the hook and in the next 5 CHS, Half Double Crochet ( HDC ) in the next ( 5, 6 ) CHS, DC in the next ( 5, 7 ) CHS, Treble Crochet ( TR ) in the next ( 3, 6 ) CHS, Treble Crochet Two Together ( TR2TOG ). Turn your work.


ROW 2: Working in the back loops, CH 4, TR in the same stitch,TR in the next ( 2, 5 ) stitches, DC in the next ( 5, 7 ) stitches, HDC in the next ( 5, 6 ) stitches, SC in the next 4 stitches, Single Crochet Two Together ( SC2TOG ). Turn your work.


ROW 3: Working in the back loops only, CH 1, 2 SC or SC Increase in the first stitch, SC in the next 4 stitches, HDC in the next ( 5, 6 ) stitches, DC in the next ( 5, 7 ) stitches, TR in the next ( 3, 5 ) stitches, TR2TOG. Turn your work.


Rotate your work and SL ST on the top portion of the wing, rotate your work and SL ST towards the bottom.
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.


Create one more wing.


Center and position the wings on the 5th row from the top and sew into place.
