Using Yarn D and your 3 MM crochet hook, create a Slip Knot and CH 4.
ROW 1: Hook in 4 DCs into the 1st CH. Turn your work. Total Stitches: 5
ROW 2: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Fasten off and leave a tail long enough for sewing.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
Position the scalp on top of the mermaid head and match rows and rounds using pins. Sew into place.
Position and sew the arms onto the sides of the mermaid’s body.
Place and position the head into the body, center and sew into place.
Cut several pieces of yarn measuring 14 inches long for your mermaid’s hair. Attach and secure the hair strands into the front loops of the mermaids scalp. For normal hair thickness, skip 1 row or round when attaching the hair strands onto the scalp. For a full head of hair, attach the hair strands into every row and round of the scalp. Cut, shape and style the attached hair.
Sew the lips using your embroidery thread and needle, 2 rounds below the safety eyes. Sew 2 running stitches, 2 stitches long across the round, pulling the thread through the 2 stitches, 1 round below. The bottom lip is made using a satin stitch with one bottom point. Working across and just below the 2 stitches previously made.
Position the Seashell Bra Cups onto the Mermaid’s chest and sew into place.
