PUTTING IT TOGETHER

Take both of your 22 gauge cloth wire together and fold in half (Photo 7).

Wrap the ends of the wire with clear tape. Insert one folded wire into a stitch in the bottom round of the balloon and insert through the last 2 rounds of the balloon center, pushing the wire into the other end of the bottom edging of the balloon. This will create a molded half of the balloon. Repeat for the other half of the balloon.

Insert a scrap yarn through the 1st round of the balloon and reinsert into the other end. Secure the wires into place by tying a knot. Cut and weave in any loose ends.

Mold the wires onto the sides of the inner portion of the balloon until it begins to take shape (Photo 9). Take the two wires and twist it together (Photo 10). Repeat the process for the other two wires. Insert both wire ends into both sides of the balloon basket and secure into place by folding the ends of the wires inwards (Photo 11).
