Let’s create this easy fit crochet headphone cover, designed to fit snugly onto the outer part of your headphone earpiece.
MEDIUM WEIGHT / WORSTED WEIGHT COTTON BLEND YARN
6 MM CROCHET HOOK
4 MM CROCHET HOOK
With your green yarn and 6 mm crochet hook, create a Magic Ring (MR) and Chain (CH) 5.
ROUND 1: Hook in 11 Treble Crochet (TR) inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Slip Stitch (SL ST) in the beginning CH to join.
ROUND 2, CH 2, Half Double Crochet (HDC) in the same stitch. Half Double Crochet Increase (HDC INC) in the next 11 stitches. SL ST in the beginning CH to join. Total Stitches: 24
ROUND 3: CH 2, HDC INC in the next stitch, * HDC in the next stitch, HDC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 10 times. SL ST in the beginning CH to join. Total Stitches: 36
We will now begin working in rows.
ROW 1: CH 2, Half Double Crochet in the Back Loops Only (HDC BLO) of the next 33 stitches. Turn your work. Total Stitches: 34
ROW 2: CH 2, Half Double Crochet in the Back Post Only (HDC BPO) of the next 33 stitches. Turn your work.
** To create your back post half double crochet, yarn over and insert your hook starting from the back around to the front stem of the stitch below and towards the back of the same stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all the loops in your hook.
ROW 3: CH 2, Half Double Crochet Increase in the Front Post Only (HDC INC FPO) of the next stitch, HDC FPO in the next 30 stitches, HDC INC FPO in the next stitch, HDC FPO in the last stitch. Turn your work.
** To create your front post half double crochet, yarn over and insert your hook behind the front stem of the stitch below and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all the loops in your hook.
Change your 6 MM crochet hook to your 4 mm crochet hook.
ROW 4: CH 2, HDC FPO in every stitch in the row.
CH 20, this CH will be the ties for your headphone cover. So, feel free to add more CHS if you want longer ties. Fasten off.
Rejoin your yarn into the other end of the last row with a SL ST and CH 20. Fasten off.
