CREATING THE BODY
Using your light blue yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.

CREATING THE OUTER EAR (2)
Using your light blue yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.

ROUND 2: SC INC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 12
ROUND 3: * SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 times. Total Stitches: 18
ROUND 4: * SC in the next 2 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 6 times. Total Stitches: 24
Fasten off and leave a 5 inch tail for sewing.
CREATING THE INNER EAR (2)
Using your white yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 4 SCS inside the MR, pulling the ring close. Total Stitches: 4
ROUND 2: * SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 2 times. Total Stitches: 6
Fasten off and leave a 4 inch tail for sewing.
Fold the outer ear in half, with the right side facing out to form a semi circle, and sew on the front loops to join. Position the inner ear into the center and sew into place.
CREATING THE ARMS (2)
Using your light blue yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, CH 3.

FUR TIP

CREATING KOYA’S NOSE
Using your purple yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 5 SCS inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Total Stitches: 5
ROUND 2: SC INC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 10
ROUND 3 TO ROUND 5: SC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 10
ROUND 6: INV SC DEC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 5

CREATING THE TUMMY
Using your white yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 6 SCS inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Total Stitches: 6
ROUND 2: SC, HDC in the first stitch, Double Crochet Increase (DC INC) 2 times, HDC, SC in the next stitch, SC INC 2 times. Total Stitches: 12
ROUND 3: SC in the next stitch, DC INC in the next stitch, DC in the next stitch, DC INC in the next stitch 3 times (Photo 14), SC in the next stitch, SC INC 3 times. Total Stitches: 17
Fasten off and leave an 8 inch tail for sewing.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
Position and center the nose in between Koya’s safety eyes and sew into place (Photo 15). Position the ears onto the side of the head and sew into place (Photo 16). Position the cheeks a stitch below the eyes and onto the sides of Koya’s head and sew into place (Photo 17).
Using your black yarn and darning needle, add the smiling mouth detail. Take Koya’s fur tip and position onto the top of the head, in between the ears and sew into place. Secure and cut any excess yarn.
Take the body and insert fiberfill until firm, sew the opening closed and weave in any loose ends. Align the head and the body of Koya and sew together on the front loops of Round 21 (head) and Round 5 (body). Weave in any loose ends.
Center and attach the tummy portion onto the front part of the body and sew into place. Position the arms onto the sides of the body and sew into place. Repeat the process for the feet and weave in any loose ends.
