MATERIALS

  • 8 PLY / DK COTTON YARN ( ANY COLOR)
  • 4 MM CROCHET HOOK
  • DARNING NEEDLE
  • SCISSORS

Begin by creating a slip knot and chaining 2.

1. Hook in 2 Single Crochets (SC) in the first chain. Turn your work.

2. Chain (CH) 1, 2 SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work. Total stitches: 4

3. CH 1, 2 SC in the first stitch, SC in the next 2 stitches, 2 SC in the last stitch (Photo 1). Turn your work. Total stitches: 6

4. CH 1, 2 SC in the first stitch, SC in the next 4 stitches, 2 SC in the last stitch. Turn your work. Total stitches: 8

5. CH 1, 2 SC in the first stitch, SC in the next 6 stitches, 2 SC in the last stitch. Turn your work. Total stitches: 10

6 to 7. CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work. Total stitches: 10

8. CH 1, 2 SC in the first stitch, SC in the next 8 stitches, 2 SC in the last stitch. Turn your work. Total stitches: 12

9. CH 1, 2 SC in the first stitch, SC in the next 10 stitches, 2 SC in the last stitch (Photo 2). Turn your work. Total stitches: 14

10. CH 1, SC in the next stitch, Single Crochet 2 Together (SC2TOG), SC in the next 8 stitches, SC2TOG. Turn your work. Total stitches: 12

11 to 38. CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row (Photo 3). Turn your work.

39. CH 1, SC in the first stitch, SC2TOG, SC in the next 6 stitches, SC2TOG, SC in the next stitch. Turn your work. Total stitches: 10

40 to 67. CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row (Photo 4). Turn your work. Total stitches: 10

68. CH 1, SC in the first stitch, SC2TOG, SC in the next 4 stitches, SC2TOG. Turn your work. Total stitches: 8

69 to 96: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

97. CH 1, SC in the first stitch, SC2TOG, SC in the next 2 stitches, SC2TOG, SC in the last stitch. Turn your work. Total stitches: 6

98 to 217: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row (Photo 5). Turn your work.

For a smoother edge, CH 1 and slip stitch (SS) around the tie. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
