AMIGURUMI PATTERN

Pepe Bear is an adventurous little fella. He is a sturdy companion to have. He stands 5 inches high and fits comfortably in your hand/s. This project is worked in continuous rounds. Let’s crochet Pepe Bear!

MATERIALS

CROCHET PEPE BEAR| HEAD & BODY

1. Create a Magic Ring ( MR ), hook in 6 single crochets ( SC ) inside the MR. Pull the ring close.

2. 2 single crochet in the first stitch and in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 12 stitches

3. * SC in the first stitch, 2 SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 4 more times. Total stitches: 18 stitches

4. * SC in the next 2 stitches, 2 SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 5 more times. Total stitches: 24 stitches

5 to 18. SC in every stitch in the round.

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | LEG

19. SC in the first stitch and in the next 8 stitches. Mark the first stitch with a stitch marker. Insert your hook on the next stitch and into the first stitch. Pull up enough yarn to create the 10th SC.

20. SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 10 stitches

21. * Single crochet 2 together ( SC2TOG ) in the next 2 stitches. Repeat * 4 more times. Leave a 6 inch tail for sewing.

Single Crochet Two Together

Insert hook into the designated stitch, yarn over ( YO ) and pull up a loop, insert hook into the next stitch, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through all 3 loops.

PREPPING THE BOTTOM PART

With the uncut yarn, sew the bottom part of the leg close. Insert the needle into the adjoining part of the leg and sew 2 stitches close. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

ATTACHING THE EYES

Flatten your Pepe Bear and position and center the eyes, between the 6th and 7th round, spacing them 5 stitches apart.

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | CREATING THE 2ND LEG

1. Create a MR with 5 single crochets inside. Close the ring.

2. 2 single crochets in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 10 stitches

3. Single crochet in every stitch in the row. Leave a 6 inch tail for sewing.

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | EARS (MAKE 2)

1. Create a MR and chain 1, hook in 4 single crochets inside the MR. Fasten off leaving a 6 inch tail for sewing.

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | EARS (MAKE 2)

1. Create a MR with 3 single crochets inside. Pull the ring close.

2. 2 SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 6 stitches

3. Single crochet in every stitch in the round. Leave a 6 inch tail for sewing.

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | TAIL

1. Create a MR with 4 SC’s inside.

2. 2 SC in every stitch in the round. Slip stitch in the beginning chain to join. Leave a tail for sewing. Total stitches: 8 stitches

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | SNOUT

With your brown yarn, create a slip knot and chain 4. SC in the 2nd chain from the hook, double crochet ( DC ) in the next stitch, 2 SC in the next stitch.

Rotate your work to the underside of the chain. DC in the next stitch, SC in the next stitch. Slip stitch in the beginning chain. Leave a 6 inch tail for sewing.

CROCHET PEPE BEAR | PUTTING IT TOGETHER

Position the ears, arms, snout and tail. Sew into place, weaving in any loose ends.

Insert the fiberfill into the bear, and onto the attached leg. Shape the bear until firm to touch.

Add fiberfill into the unattached leg and sew into place. Weave in any loose ends. Until the next post, Happy Crocheting!
