HOW TO: DOUBLE CROCHET

The Double Crochet Stitch or DC is a tall stitch that creates a less dense fabric with a softer drape. It is one of the most commonly used stitches in creating crochet projects.


FOUNDATION CHAIN: ANY NUMBER OF CHAINS + 2

Begin by creating a slip knot and chain (CH) 12.

ROW 1

Yarn over (YO), insert your hook into the 4th CH from the hook and pull up a loop. YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through the last 2 loops. You have just completed your double crochet (DC) stitch. Turn your work.

ROW 2

CH 3, DC in the next stitch and in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

ROW 3

Repeat Row 2 of the pattern until you have reached the necessary amount needed for your project.
