Paper Decor: 3D Christmas Trees

Time needed: 1 hour

Create different sized, whimsical and delicate Christmas Tree Decorations for your home, work or school projects.

1. Download and print the Christmas Tree Template size of your choice.
   

   Click the download button below and choose the printable tree template.

2. Cut and Trace.
   

   Cut the tree patterns and trace onto your cardboard paper or cardboard box. You will be needing 3 pieces of cut paper trees of each size to create one 3D Paper Christmas Tree. Cut using your scissors or box cutter.
   
   

3. 
   Folding the Cardboard Box Cutouts.
   
   To create the middle fold, create a 3 mm wide line onto the center of the cutout cardboard Christmas Tree, using your box cutter. Peel the top layer off of the 3 mm midline. Fold in half.

   

4. Creating the 3D Effect.

   Fold the cut paper trees in half, lengthwise. Run a smooth, blunt object on the folded area to create a crisp edge.

5. Putting It Together.
   

   Apply a thin layer of glue onto one side of the folded paper Christmas tree. Repeat for the other 2 pieces. Join the sides of the two folded tree pieces together, repeat for the other folded piece, do not join the last side of the cut trees at this point.
   
   Cut a 6 inch piece of twine and tie the ends together to form a circle. Insert into the center of the folded tree pieces. Join the remaining folded Christmas tree onto the first tree fold and hold in place until glue has set.
   
   Place flat under a heavy, flat object, until glue fully dries.

6. Finishing Touches.
   

   You can paint and add decorative embellishments to further glam up your 3D Christmas Trees.
