Bubble T’s Small Bubble Tea

AMIGURUMI PATTERN

Who doesn’t like bubble teas? They come in a wide range of flavours and are a refreshing drink to sip on. You can now create and carry your own small bubble tea with this beginner friendly tutorial.

Combine different coloured yarns to match the bubble tea flavour of your choice.

MATERIALS

  • 8 PLY / DK COTTON YARN ( 5 COLORS)
  • 3 MM CROCHET HOOK
  • 4 MM CROCHET HOOK
  • DARNING NEEDLE
  • SCISSORS
  • FIBERFILL

BUBBLE TEA AMIGURUMI | CUP

With Yarn A (White Yarn) and your 4 mm crochet hook, begin by creating a Magic Ring (MR).

1. Hook in 5 Single Crochets (SC) inside the MR (Photo 1). Total stitches: 5

2. 2 SC in every stitch in the round (Photo 2). Total stitches: 10

3. * SC in the next stitch, 2 SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 4 more times. Join Yarn B (Orange Yarn) in the last stitch of this round (Photo 3). Total stitches : 15

4. Half Double Crochet in the back loops only (HDCBLO) of every stitch in the round (Photo 4). Total stitches: 15

5. * SC in the next 2 stitches joining Yarn C (Black Yarn) in the last stitch with your 4 mm crochet hook, Popcorn stitch (PC) in the next stitch using your 3 mm crochet hook, switch to Yarn B in the last stitch (Photo 5). Repeat * 4 more times. Total stitches: 15

To create your SC popcorn stitch (SCPC) , hook in 3 SCs in the next stitch, joining Yarn B in the last stitch. remove your hook from the working loop. Reinsert in the 1st SC you have created and pull the working yarn through (Photo 6).

6. *SC in the next 2 stitches (Yarn B), SCPC in the next stitch using your 3 mm crochet hook (Yarn C). Repeat *4 more times. Total stitches: 15

7. Using Yarn B and your 4 mm hook, SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 15

8. With Yarn A, * SC in the next 2 stitches (Photo 7), 2 SCs in the next stitch. Repeat * 4 more times. Total stitches: 20

9 and 10. SC in every stitch in the round (Photo 9). Fasten off and leave a 6 inch tail for sewing.

BUBBLE TEA AMIGURUMI | LID

Using your white yarn and 4 mm crochet hook, create a MR.

1. Hook in 5 SCs inside the MR. Pull the ring close.

2. 2 SC in every stitch in the round (Photo 10). Total stitches:10

3. * SC in the next stitch, 2 SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 4 more times. Total stitches: 15

4. * SC in the next 2 stitches, 2 SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 4 more times. Total stitches: 20

5. SCBLO of every stitch in the round (Photo 11). Slip stitch in the beginning stitch to join. Total stitches: 20

6. Chain 1, working backwards to the previous round, * insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops. Repeat * in every stitch in the round (Photo 12). Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Sew a portion of the lid and the container closed (Photo 13). Insert fiberfill until firm (Photo 14). Sew together weaving in any loose ends.

BUBBLE TEA AMIGURUMI | STRAW

With your 4 mm crochet hook and light pink yarn (Yarn A), create a slip knot and chain 7.

1. SC in the 2nd chain from the hook and in every chain, joining your green yarn (Yarn B) in the last stitch. Turn your work. Total stitches: 5

2. With Yarn B, chain 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

3. With Yarn A, chain 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work. (Photo 15)

4. With Yarn B, chain 1, SC in every stitch in the row.

Fasten off leaving a tail long enough for sewing. With the right side facing up, join the long ends of the straw and sew together. Attach the straw into the center of the cup and sew into place (Photo 16). Weave in any loose ends.

You have now completed your Small Bubble Tea Amigurumi!
