D.I.Y. Claydough

This soft and pliable claydough helps in developing fine motor skills in children, encourages creativity, relieve stress and is non toxic. The process of creating the claydough itself is fun and can be made using common kitchen items.


MATERIALS

1 CUP FLOUR

1/3 CUP SALT

2 TSPS CREAM OF TARTAR

1 CUP WATER

1 TBSP COOKING OIL

FOOD COLORING

Quick and Easy 20 minutes

A fun activity for adults and kids!

  1. Premix Dry Ingredients

    In a medium height pan, add 1 cup of flour, 1/3 cup salt and 2 teaspoons cream of tartar and mix together.

  2. Adding the Wet Ingredients

    Add 1 cup water and 1 tablespoon cooking oil into the dry mixture.

  3. Combing the Ingredients

    Mix the ingredients together until well combined.

  4. Cooking the Claydough

    Turn your stove on low heat and stir continuously until the mixture turns thick and clumpy. Once the desired texture is achieved, remove from the heat and allow to cool before handling.

  5. Adding the Color

    Add a few drops of food coloring to your claydough and mix until the color has blended well into the claydough. Adjust the vibrancy of the color by adding a few more drops of food coloring.

Store the Claydough in an airtight container or plastic bags and in a cool dry place. The Claydough can last about a week with proper storage.
