A flexible crochet cord resembling rope, the I-Cord has many uses.
You can create drawstrings, straps, jewelry, belts, lanyards and decorative texts and shapes.
MATERIALS
MEDIUM WEIGHT / WORSTED VELVET YARN
4 MM CROCHET HOOK
SCISSORS
Begin by creating a slip knot and chain (CH) 2 (Photo 1).

Insert your hook into the first CH, yarn over (YO) and pull up a loop.
Remove your hook from the first loop, YO and pull up a loop through the 2nd loop (Photo 2).
Reinsert your hook into the 1st loop (Photo 3), YO and pull up a loop in the first loop.


Repeat the steps above until you have reached the desired length of I-cord needed for your project.
