AMIGURUMI PATTERN

Easily crochet this cute and fluffy sheep softie and bring your Sheepenstein to life with this beginner friendly tutorial!

MATERIALS

• COLOURS: GREY + CREAM ; BLACK + CREAM
• 5 MM CROCHET HOOK

SHEEPENSTEIN | CREATING THE HEAD

With your grey coloured yarn and 5 mm hook, begin by creating a Magic Ring (MR).

1. Hook in 6 single crochets (SC) inside your MR. Pull the magic ring closed.

2. Crochet 2 SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 12

3. * SC in the first stitch, 2 SC in the 2nd stitch. Repeat *5 more times. Total stitches: 18

4. 2 SC in the next 2 stitches, SC in the next 3 stitches, 2 SC in the next 2 stitches, SC in the next 11 stitches. Total stitches: 22

5 to 6. SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 22

7. SC in the next 3 stitches, single crochet two together (SC2TOG) 2x, SC in the next 13 stitches, SC2TOG. Total stitches: 19

8. SC in the next 17 stitches, SC2TOG. Total stitches: 18

9. * SC in the next stitch, SC2TOG. Repeat * 5 more times. Total stitches: 12

Your Sheepensten’s head has a flat and curved area. The flat area is the back portion of the head and the curved area will be the front portion of the head.

Center and attach the safety eyes to the front portion between rounds 7 and 8, spaced 5 stitches apart. Fill the head with fiberfill until firm.

Continue to the next round.

10. SC2TOG in every stitch in the round.

Leave a 6 inch tail for sewing and sew the opening of the head closed.

SHEEPENSTEIN | EARS

With the same coloured yarn and 5 mm hook, create a MR.

1. Hook in 4 single crochets inside the magic ring.

2 to 4. SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 4

Leave a tail long enough for sewing. Create one more to make a pair of ears.

SHEEPENSTEIN | TAIL

1. Create a MR and hook in 5 single crochets inside the magic ring.

2 to 3. SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 5

Leave a tail long enough for sewing.

SHEEPENSTEIN | FRONT LEGS

1. Create a MR and hook in 4 SC inside the MR.

2 to 3. SC in every stitch in the round. Total stitches: 4

Leave a tail long enough for sewing.

Create one more to make a pair of Sheepenstein’s front legs.
