CREATING THE WHALE BODY

For the whale amigurumi, we will be working in continuous rounds.

1. Begin by creating a magic ring, hook in 8 single crochets inside the Magic ring.

2. Hook in 2 single crochets in every stitch in the round.

3. * Single crochet in the next stitch, 2 single crochets in the next stitch, repeat * 4 more times.

4. *Single crochet in the next 2 stitches, 2 single crochets in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 more times. You will have a total of 32 single crochets in this round.

5. Single crochet in every stitch in the round.

6. Single crochet in the next 7 stitches, 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches, single crochet in the next 23 stitches.

7. Single crochet in the next 10 stitches, chain 8, single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook and in the next 6 chains, single crochet in the next stitch and in every stitch in the round.

You now have a total of 41 single crochets in this round

8. Single crochet in the next 16 stitches, 3 single crochets in the next stitch, single crochet in the next 31 stitches.

You have a total of 50 single crochets in this round.

9. Single crochet in the next 17 stitches, 2 single crochets in the next stitch, single crochet in the next stitch, 2 single crochets in the next stitch, single crochet in every remaining stitch in the round.

You now have a total of 52 single crochet in this round.

10. Single crochet in every stitch in the round.

11. Single crochet in the next 19 stitches, slip stitch in the next 2 stitches, single crochet in the next 31 stitches.

12. Single crochet in every stitch in the round.

Leave a tail long enough for sewing. Maneuver the yarn to the tail end of the whale and sew 7 stitches closed. Weave in any loose ends.
