Abbreviated as SC2TOG, the single crochet two together technique is used to create a decrease in the rows or rounds you are working on. This tutorial will show you how to decrease in rows and also create a triangle shape in the process.


FOUNDATION CHAIN: 10 + 1

Begin with a slip knot and chain (CH) 11.

Row 1: Single crochet (SC) in the 2nd chain from the hook and in the next 9 CHs. Turn your work. Total stitches: 10

Row 2: CH 1, SC2TOG in the next 2 stitches, SC in the next 6 stitches, SC2TOG. Turn your work. Total stitches: 8

Insert your hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop, insert your hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over (YO) and pull through all 3 loops on your hook.

Row 3: CH 1 and SC in very stitch in the row. Turn your work.

Row 4: CH 1, SC2TOG, SC in the next 4 stitches, SC2TOG. Turn your work. Total Stitches: 6

Row 5: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

Row 6: CH 1, SC2TOG, SC in the next 2, SC2TOG. Turn your work. Total stitches: 4

Row 7: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

Row 8: CH 1, SC2TOG 2X. Turn your work. Total stitches: 2

Row 9: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row.

Row 10: CH 1, SC2TOG. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
