HOW TO: FRONT RAISED DOUBLE CROCHET

Also known as the Front Post Double Crochet, the Front Raised Double Crochet Stitch (FRDC/FPDC) is a technique that works around the stems or posts of stitches to add detail and texture to your projects.


FOUNDATION CHAIN: ANY NUMBER OF CHAINS + 2

To begin creating your front raised double crochet, complete a slip knot and chain 17.

ROW 1

Double Crochet ( DC ) in the 4rth chain (CH) from the hook and in every CH. Turn your work.

ROW 2

CH 2, * Front Raised Double Crochet ( FRDC ) around the next stitch and in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.


FRONT RAISED DOUBLE CROCHET

Yarn over ( YO ), insert your hook around the front stem of the stitch below, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through two loops, YO and pull through the last 2 loops.


ROW 3

 Repeat Step 2 until you have the necessary amount of rows needed for your project.
