The Front Raised Double Crochet Stitch is a technique that works around the stems or posts of stitches to add detail and texture to your projects.

MATERIALS

Front Raised DC Foundation Chain: Any number of stitches + 2

To begin creating your front raised double crochet, complete a slip knot and chain 17.

1. Double Crochet ( DC ) in the 4rth chain from the hook,

and in every chain. Turn your work.

2. Chain 2, * Front Raised Double Crochet ( FRDC ) around the next stitch

and in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

FRONT RAISED DC

Yarn over ( YO ), insert your hook around the front stem of the stitch below, YO and pull up a loop,

YO and pull through two loops,

YO and pull through the last 2 loops.

3. Repeat Step 2 until you have the necessary amount of stitches / rows needed for your project.

The Front Raised DC belong to the raised, post and relief stitch family. It is also known as the Front Post Double Crochet.
