This famous line from the poem, ‘Twas the night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore, as St. Nick hustles to deliver presents before Christmas Day.

Create this reindeer crochet motif to add to your Festive Christmas Bunting and other projects.

MATERIALS

With your rust colored yarn, begin by creating a Magic Ring ( MR ).

1. Chain 1, and hook in 5 single crochets ( SC ) inside the MR. Slip stitch in the beginning chain to join. Total: 5 stitches

2. Chain 1, 2 SC in every stitch in the round. Slip stitch in the beginning chain to join. Total: 10 stitches

3. Chain 1, * SC in the next stitch, 2 SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 4 more times. Slip stitch in the beginning chain to join. Total: 15 stitches

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

ANTLERS | REINDEER MOTIF

Join your brown yarn in any stitch in the last round.

Chain 3,

slip stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook and in the next chain.

Chain 5, slip stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook and into the next chain, chain 3, slip stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook and in the next 4 chains, chain 3, slip stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook and in the next chain. Slip stitch in the same stitch.

ANTLERS 2 | REINDEER MOTIF

Slip stitch in the next 4 stitches.

Repeat the pattern for the reindeer antlers. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

NOSE | REINDEER MOTIF

With your red yarn and 4 mm hook, create a MR. Chain 1, SC, 2 DC, inside the MR.

Position and sew the nose into the center of the circle, weave in any loose ends.
