How To Crochet Granny Square Crosses

Simple and beautiful Granny Square Cross Design. Use this pattern to create your projects!


Create a Magic Ring (MR) and chain (CH) 1.

ROUND 1

Hook in 8 Single Crochets ( SC ) inside the MR. Slip stitch (SS) in the beginning chain to join.

ROUND 2

CH 1, SC in the first stitch, * CH 3, 3 Treble Cluster ( TR-Cluster ) in the next stitch, CH 3, SC in the next stitch. Repeat * 3 more times, ending the round with CH 3. SS in the beginning chain to join.


3 Treble Cluster ( 3TR-Cluster )

* Yarn over ( YO ) twice, insert the hook into the designated stitch and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through the last 2 loops. Repeat * 2 more times. YO and pull through all 4 loops.


ROUND 3

CH 1, SC in the first stitch, * CH 3, SC in the next CH-3 space, CH 1, 3 Double Crochet ( DC ) in the next SC, CH 1, SC in the next CH-3 space. Repeat * all around, ending with CH 1, SS in the first stitch to join.

ROUND 4

SS in the next CH-3 space, CH 2, 2 Half Double Crochet ( HDC ) in the same CH-3 space, CH 2, 3 HDC in the same CH space.

* HDC in the next CH-1 space, SC in the next 3 stitches, CH 1, HDC in the next CH-1 space **. ( 3 HDC, CH 2, 3 HDC in the next CH-3 space ).

Repeat from * around, ending in **. SS in the top of the beginning CH.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
