WORLD’S SMALLEST CROCHET VIOLIN

Attach the World’s Smallest Crochet Violin to the Crab Mitts to create your novelty mittens.


MATERIALS

EMBROIDERY THREAD

COLORS: BROWN, BLACK AND LIGHT BROWN

1.8 MM HOOK

DARNING NEEDLE

SCISSORS

Using your brown yarn and 1.8 mm crochet hook, create a Slip Knot and Chain (CH) 23.

ROW 1: Hook in 3 Single Crochets (SC) into the 1st CH, turn your work.

ROW 2: CH 1, Single Crochet Increase (SC INC ) in the next stitch, SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Turn your work. Total Stitches: 5

ROW 3: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Turn your work.

ROW 4: CH 1, Single Crochet Decrease in the next stitch, SC in the next stitch, SC DEC in the next stitch. Turn your work.

ROW 5: CH 1, Single Crochet Three Together (SC3TOG), turn your work.

ROW 6: CH 1, hook in 3 SC in the first stitch. Turn your work.

ROW 7: CH 1, SC INC in the next stitch, SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Turn your work. Total Stitches: 5

ROW 8: CH 1, SC in the next 7 stitches, hook in 3 SC in the next stitch, SC in the next 7 stitches, 3 SC in the next stitch. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

To create the neck of the violin, join your black embroidery thread onto the last row with a SL ST and CH 1.

ROW 1: Hook in 3 SC into the next stitch. Turn your work.

ROW 2: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the row. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.



To add detail, take your darning needle and insert your black yarn about 10 inches long. Create several horizontal lines just below the neck of the violin, extending until the 6th row. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Repeat for the bottom part of the violin between rows 1 and 2. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

To add strings, take your light brown yarn and separate 4 strands of your embroidery thread, attach each strand from the topmost part of the next towards the bottom part of the violin. Weave in any loose ends.
