Despite it’s gelatinous and mesmerizing appearance, Jellyfishes are composed of 95% water, and can inflict pain, introduce venom into the body and some species of the phylum Cnidaria, can even cause death.

BELL BODY

With your 4 mm crochet hook and natural colored yarn, begin by creating a Magic Ring ( MR ).

ROUND 1: Hook in 7 Single Crochets ( SC ) inside the MR. Total Stitches: 7

ROUND 2: Hook in 2 SCs or Single Crochet Increase ( SC INC ) in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 14

ROUND 3: * SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 times. Total Stitches: 21

ROUND 4: * SC in the next 2 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 times. Total Stitches: 28

ROUND 5: * SC in the next 3 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 times. Total Stitches: 35

ROUND 6 to ROUND 8: SC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 35

ROUND 9: Working in the Back Loops Only ( BLO ) * SCBLO in the next 3 stitches, Invisible Single Crochet Decrease BLO ( INV SC DEC BLO ) in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 times. Total Stitches: 28

ROUND 10: * SC in the next 2 stitches, INV SC DEC in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 times. Total Stitches: 21

ROUND 11: * SC in the next stitch, INV SC DEC in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 times. Total Stitches: 14

Insert fiberfill into the Bell Body of your Jellyfish Amigurumi, until firm.

ROUND 12: INV SC DEC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 7

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

BODY BORDER

Using your 3 mm crochet hook and natural colored yarn, join yarn into the front loop of one of the stitches in ROUND 9 of the Bell Body.

Chain 3 Picot (CH 3 PICOT) in the same stitch, * Slip Stitch ( SL ST ) in the next 2 stitches, CH 3 PICOT in the next stitch. Repeat * 16 times. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

ORAL ARMS

Using your 4 mm crochet hook and natural colored yarn, create a Slip Knot and CH 18.

ORAL ARM #1: Double Crochet ( DC ) in the 4th CH from the hook. Double Crochet Increase ( DC INC ) in the next 14 CHS, CH 2.

ORAL ARM # 2 and 3: Repeat the pattern for Oral Arm # 1.

Join both ends of the oral arms with a SL ST, fasten off and leave a 6 inch tail for sewing.

Sew the Oral arms into the bottom of the Bell Body in between ROUNDS 11 and 12, weaving in any loose ends.

TENTACLES

Insert any colored yarn of your choice, measuring 8 inches, in between the Oral Arms and secure tightly.
