Turkeys are primarily ground-dwelling birds that inhabit forests, woodlands, and open fields. These omnivorous birds, feeds on a variety of food including seeds, fruits, insects, and small animals. Let’s create the yarn version of the turkey. Gobble-Gobble!

CREATING THE HEAD
With Yarn A and your 6 mm crochet hook, begin by creating a Magic Ring (MR) and Chain (CH) 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 5 Single Crochets (SC) inside the MR. Pull the ring closed. Total Stitches: 5
ROUND 2: Single Crochet Increase (SC INC) in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 10
ROUND 3: * SC in the next stitch, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 5 times. Total Stitches: 15
ROUND 4: * SC in the next 2 stitches, SC INC in the next stitch. Repeat * 5 times. Total Stitches: 20

Center and insert the safety eyes in the head portion of your turkey amigurumi bird, between Round 6 and Round 7, spaced 5 stitches apart.
ROUND 19: CH 1, * SC in the next 3 stitches, INV SC DEC in the next stitch. Repeat * 5 times. SL ST in the beginning stitch to join. Total Stitches: 20
ROUND 20: CH 1, INV SC DEC BLO in every stitch in the round. SL ST in the beginning stitch to join.
Insert fiberfill into your turkey bird amigurumi until slightly firm.
ROUND 21: INV SC DEC in every stitch in the round. Fasten off (Photo 1) and sew the opening closed, weaving in any loose ends.

CREATING THE WINGS (2)
Using Yarn B and your 6 MM crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 6 SC inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Total Stitches: 6
ROUND 2: SC INC in the next 4 stitches, turn your work. Total Stitches: 8
ROUND 3: CH 1, SC INC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 16
Fasten off and leave a 5 inch tail for sewing. Fold the wings lengthwise with the wrong sides together and sew the front loops of the edge of the wing together.
CREATING THE SNOOD (2)
Using your 5 ply red yarn and 3.5 mm crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 4 SC inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Total Stitches: 4
ROUND 2: SC INC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 8
ROUND 3: CH 1, SC in every stitch in the round.
ROUND 4: INV SC DEC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 4
ROUND 5 TO ROUND 6: SC in every stitch in the round. Fasten off and leave a 5 inch tail for sewing.
