ROUND 16: * SC in the next stitch, INV SC DEC in the next stitch. Repeat * 7 more times.
Attach the safety eyes between rounds 9 to 10 and spaced 6 stitches apart (Photo 5).
ROUND 17: INV SC DEC until the end of the round.
Insert fiberfill into the whale until firm. Sew the whale belly closed, weaving in any loose ends.
CREATING THE FLIPPERS (2)
Using Yarn A and your 5 MM crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 4 SCS inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Total Stitches: 4
ROUND 2: SC INC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 8
ROUND 3: SC in every stitch in the round.
Fasten off leave a 5 inch tail for sewing (Photo 7).


CREATING THE TAIL FINS
Using Yarn B and your 5 MM crochet hook, create a MR and CH 1.
ROUND 1: Hook in 4 SCS inside the MR. Pull the ring close. Total Stitches: 4
ROUND 2: SC INC in every stitch in the round. Total Stitches: 8
ROUND 3 TO ROUND 4: SC in every stitch in the round.
Fasten off and leave a 5 inch tail for sewing.
Position the whale flippers and tail fins onto the side and tail portion (Photo 6), respectively, and sew into place. Weave in any loose ends.
